Battery Tender August 31, 2010 amesa This battery charger works very well. I used it to maintain charged the battery for a 12 volt battery for my automobile during 3-4 months and performance has been excelent.
Works great! August 30, 2010 Michael S. Breault (Folsom, CA) I am retired and drive infrequently. When I do drive, I make several very short trips so my battery is starting my car several times without getting a good charging. I put this on my battery every week or so and the battery is always fully charged. It takes about 24 hours to restore my battery to full charge. This is perfect for me. It works great! The seller shipped it promptly. I could not be more satisfied.
Very good if your battery has some life left August 27, 2010 Bearwife (Seattle, WA USA) This tender is great: it is small, it is easy to connect, and it works. Though it may take a day and a half or so to charge a very low battery. There are two problems to beware of: 1) It really won't work if your battery is fully drained or close to dead. It will just sit there, flashing its red light at you. You have to jump the battery and bring its voltage up a little before the tender will provide it with any charge. (There are some portable jump starters on Amazon that do a fine job if your car, like ours, is in a position in the garage to which it is tough to get typical starter cables.) 2) The instructions on where to attach the cables are plain old wrong. Attach the cables as directed and you'll get the dread alternating red and green flashing lights, indicating that you have a faulty hookup. Instead, just connect the red cable clip to the positive terminal of your car battery and the black one to the negative terminal, and all will be well.
This thing is Perfect August 26, 2010 D. Miller (Mandeville, La. USA) Over the past 10 or 15 years we've tried All Kinds of battery (Keep It Charged To It's Fullest) devices.
There is no need to mention the other 4 or 5 chargers that we've purchased but....
There IS a need to mention the Battery Tender Charger. This little thing works perfectly! I've had one connected to a Mighty Mule gate opener for years and years now and the battery remains Fully Charged without Overcharging!
So I'm ordering a couple more to keep the battery in my old truck (which I don't run often) and my tractor (that doesn't work much in the winter).
Believe me when I tell you that I've tried ALL KINDS of battery charger/maintainers in the past and NONE of them work as well as the little Battery Tender.
Fantastic Product!
Excellent Product August 22, 2010 kozchris (Boynton Beach, FL United States) I debated between this and some cheaper knock-offs but finally decided to go with the Battery Tender. I have no regrets about my decision. I don't use my car (97, Accord) to drive much anymore and the (2 month old) battery seemed to always be dead when I did need the car which happens when you don't drive and your car sits in Florida sun.
I connected up the terminal adapter that came with the product to my car battery and left the connector hanging out from under the hood. I then plugged the Battery Tender to an outlet in the garage, connected an extension cable (which I additionally purchased) between the Battery Tender and the adapter attached to my car battery. My car battery was initially dead but after 2 days I checked the Battery Tender and said that it was now in float and the battery should be good to go. I disconnected the Battery Tender and the car started right up.
The Battery Tender works as designed and comes as a compact sturdy unit. For me this was a small price to pay to have piece of mind that my car will always start when I need it to.
Excellent product.
